Long Meadow Ranch sits in the Prescott area on central Yavapai ground. The land has higher spots that fall away into flatter ground, so what is under the surface changes as you move across it. It is high-desert country, decomposed granite in the rises and heavier soil where it levels out.
The ground here runs the familiar central Yavapai mix: decomposed granite over rock in the higher spots, with clay and caliche pockets where it flattens.
